Kuta (Antara Bali) - Some 42 flights` arrivals and departures at the Ngurah Rai
International Airport, Bali, will be affected between 6:30 p.m. and
8:30 p.m. Central Indonesia Standard Time (WITA) on Saturday following
Saudi King Salman`s arrival.
Region IV Airport Authority Chief Bintang Hidayat here on Friday
called on both domestic and international airline companies to
anticipate disruptions in flight schedules at the Ngurah Rai airport.
He stated that prior to Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz al-Saud`s
arrival, both domestic and international flights to and from the Ngurah
Rai Airport will be disrupted.
King Salman is scheduled to arrive in Bali on Saturday at 5:45 p.m.
WITA for a vacation on the resort island until March 9, 2017.
Tourism Affairs Minister Arief Yahya has noted that the Saudi King`s
vacation on the Indonesian resort island of Bali will help to boost
tourism.
The profile and popularity of Bali are believed to rise sharply
following the arrival of an influential global figure, such as King
Salman.
The minister of tourism has also extended the country`s warm welcome
to the King of Saudi Arabia, with his entourage of about 1.5 thousand
members, including 10 ministers and 25 princes.
The Bali Police will deploy over one thousand officers to guard the
Saudi Arabian King and his entourage during their vacation on the
world`s most famous tourist island on Mar 4-9.
"The Bali Police will deploy 878 officers apart from other
personnel, with the total number reaching more than one thousand," Chief
of the Bali Police Inspector General Petrus Golose remarked on
Wednesday.
Security will be stepped up from the moment the aircraft of the King
and his entourage land at the I Ngurah Rai International Airport.
Security will be intensified at several roads they will pass through and
the hotels where they will stay.(WDY)
