Jakarta (Antara Bali) - Rupiah regained some of its lost value against the US dollar trading at the level of 12,149 per dollar in the opening trade on Friday from the level of 12,175 earlier.
Chief researcher of Monex Investindo Futures Ariston Tjendra said the US dollar rise was halted on profit taking by some of market players despite encouraging US economic data.
Ariston said the result of the monetary meeting of the US central bank showed concern among the Fed officials over risk of slowing increase in inflation resulting in the weakening of dollar.
"However, the dollar fall would not last long," he said.
chief researcher of Woori Korindo Securities Indonesia Reza Priyambada said the rupiah rise had been curbed by expectation of the Fed raising its interest rate. (WDY)
