Incheon, S Korea (Antara Bali) - Indonesia expects to take home medals from wushu, weightlifting, and swimming events on the second day of the 2014 Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea, on Sunday.
Indonesia gained two silver medals on the first day of the four-yearly games on Saturday, putting it on the eighth place in the provisional medal tally.
The Indonesian contingent bagged the two silvers through its women players, Juwita Niza Masni in wushu, and Sri Wahyuni Agustiani in weightlifting.
Niza Misna won the first medal for Indonesia in the women's Nandao and Nanquan event, while Sri Wahyuni Agustini won a silver medal in the 48 kg category.
Sri Wahyuni recorded 80 kg in snatch and 107 kg in clean and jerk, taking her total lifted weight to 187 kg to finish second, right behind Margarita Yelisseyeva from Kazakhstan whose total weight lift of 194kg consisted of 99 kg in snatch and 106 from clean and jerk.
Indonesia is expected to grab another medal when its wushu athlete Ahmad Hulaifi plays in the daosu (broadsword form) and gunshu (stick form) all round on Sunday.
In the men's weightlifting, Eko Yuli Irawan is expected to perform his best to take home a medal in the 62 kg category, while swimmer I Gede Siman Sudartawa will compete in the men's 100 meter backstroke event.
Indonesia will also take part in badminton, equestrian, rowing, sepak takraw, tennis and beach volleyball events on Sunday. (WDY)
